Ann Cooper Gay is an accomplished conductor, singer, organist and flutist well known in the artistic community for her enthusiasm, energy, and consistently high level of artistic achievement. She holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music and Music Education, and a Diploma in Opera Performance. Before becoming Assistant Professor of Music at Houghton College (NY), she toured as soloist with the Canadian Opera Company. She founded the award-winning High Park Choirs of Toronto and served as Artistic Director for sixteen years before beginning her tenure as Artistic/Music Director of the Canadian Children's Opera Chorus in 2000. Ann has served as conductor of the U of T’s Women's Chorus and Hart House Orchestra, and string/orchestra instructor for the Toronto Board of Education. She was honoured by the Toronto YWCA as a "Woman of Distinction" who "has made a profound impact on an entire generation of young musicians in Toronto".
Ian Sadler, BA, BEd, FTCL, ARCO, is Artistic Director of The Bach Elgar Choir of Hamilton, The Stratford Concert Choir and Administrative Director of the Cathedral Singers of Ontario. Ian is also Professor of Music at Laurentian University in Sudbury.
Born in England, Ian began as chorister at St. Paul’s Cathedral, London. He attended The King’s School, Canterbury where he won the Organ Scholarship to Bristol University. Later, Ian was Organ Scholar at St. Paul’s Cathedral for two years. Ian holds degrees in musicology and education, with organ degrees from Trinity College of Music and The Royal College of Organists in London.
In 1980, Ian moved to Canada following his appointment as Director of Music at Toronto’s Grace Church on-the-Hill and Choral Director at Upper Canada College. In 1986, Ian won 1st Prize at the International Organ Playing Competition at Syracuse University, U.S.A. He has since presented recitals in Sweden, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy, Hungary, Denmark and England. Ian has six solo recordings on current release and a further five by his choirs. In 1999 he was presented with a Juno award for a choral CD and in that same year represented Canada as a member of the International Jury for the Liszt Organ Playing Competition in Budapest, Hungary. In October 2003 Ian performed with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra as part of the inaugural series on the new organ at Edmonton’s Winspear Centre for the Arts.
Ian lives with his wife, soprano Catharine Sadler, and their children in Stratford, Ontario.

The Rev. Canon Tim Elliott (SICM Chaplain, Jazz musician) has ministered in the Anglican Church of Canada for 25 years. He currently serves as Honorary Assistant at Church of the Redeemer, Toronto, tutor in homiletics for Trinity College, U of T, and since 2002 via Elliott Resources Services, as consultant to individuals and organizations. Also a graduate of the Toronto School of Theology (Doctor of Ministry, where his studies focused on work and vocation). and a jazz musician, his conference program “Jazz for Life – A path to balance” on work-life balance, creativity and innovation has been acclaimed across Canada. http://elliottresourceservices.com.
Christopher Dawes (SICM Director), freelance church, classical and theatre musician, writer and consultant, held music positions spanning 12 years at St. James’ Cathedral in Toronto. He now teaches, performs and composes with U of T’s Music Faculty and Drama Studies Program, and serves as Director of both Organ Alternatives (orgalt.com) and the Organ Academy at Stratford Summer Music while doing post-graduate work in Music Criticism.
Andrew Donaldson (Global Hymnody) is a writer, composer, teacher and performer, and is internationally recognized as a leader in congregational song. Beverley Foster (Piano, Convergent Worship) has played piano, organ and directed choirs in churches for over 35 years. She has been a schoolteacher at elementary and secondary levels, Executive Director of the Ontario Vocal Festival and accompanist for the Orpheus Choir of Toronto. Michael O’Connor (the Royal School of Church Music’s “Voice for Life” Program), theologian, liturgist and freelance educator, was Warden of the Royal School of Church Music in UK before re-locating to Canada with his family last fall. As a member of the project team that developed the new resources for Voice for Life, he is the ideal person to present the RSCM’s educational programmes and resources to the SICM. Judy Pringle (Anthem Reading Sessions), founder and president of Winnipeg’s Canadian Choral Centre, has served as church musician and choral conductor for thirty years. A graduate of Brandon University and University of Manitoba in both Performance and Education, she has sung nationally and internationally in recital, oratorio, musical theatre and television. She has served as Co-Chair of Podium 2004, and on the Board of the Foundation for Choral Music in Manitoba.

Nancy Telfer (Choral Clinics) is a Canadian composer who has been a choral clinician and guest conductor for many provincial, national, and state organizations throughout Canada and the United States. For many years she has presented workshops on vocal production to both choral conductors and singers. Since 1979 Telfer has composed over 260 works for soloists, chamber ensembles, orchestra, bands, pianists, and choirs, most of which are published in Canada and the United States.
